Does Verizon’s version of the MiFi (2200) use some kind of proprietary charger? Mine will only charge via the included AC adapter. It won’t even charge using a micro cable with the 5v/1A USB wall wart that came with my iPhone. I was hoping to bea able to charge it with my iGo car charger since I already have a USB tip but that doesn’t work either.
i got my wifi in september… that trick doesn’t work.

i think they should add solar charging to the mifi that would prob make it much more efficient.
Of course! there is nothing better for me on the markets. With my modded 5 cell I get 9 hours and it’s the smallest for best mobility.

What kind of operation system is this device running on? Busybox?
I wonder if you use the usb port on your laptop/netbook to charge it, and it runs windows if it would be enough to disable read write access to the port you are using. It’s a registry hack. Perhaps if you disable it, the USB port will still work to charge, hopefully without disconnecting. Might be worth looking into for the people not willing to butcher a cable

Can you see yourself using that thing on a day to day basis? I use WMWifiRouter on my Pocket PC and it does the same thing. This thing would be awesome because everyone with a laptop or a device that has WiFi can get online at all times no matter where they are. How much is it and do you think its worth it? You have 3G in most your computers… So would you still use the interneal 3G or this Novatel thing?

JKK, do you know if there will ever be CDMA versions of those things? That’s a cool device and all, but I want to use Sprint instead of 3G. Is there a solution for people that don’t use 3G?
